The year 1946-47, deeply etched in the memories of all generations proved to be a watershed in the field of education in Punjab. While the seeds of partition were being sown in the minds of some, a dream for an educated Punjab was taking shape elsewhere.

The Decent Children Modern High School, the first English medium school in the Malwa belt of the erstwhile Punjab incorporating the modern ideals of education, was established in Ferozepur Cantonment (Punjab) in the year 1946 due to the vision and relentless efforts of its founder cum Principal Late Sh. M.R. Dass. Today DCM Group of Schools is an educational power to reckon with, in North India .This meteoric rise would not have been possible without the unquestioning and continuous support of the people of the historic town of Ferozepur coupled with the unflagging efforts of the entire DCM family. Today DCM has been able to carve a niche for itself amidst the comity of the best educational institutions in the country.

Over the years DCM has been conferred with several prestigious awards including the National Award for Excellence in Education for meritorious services in the field of education. It was also honoured by the then Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Prakash Singh Badal with Chief Minister’s Appreciation Award for excellent contribution in the field of education of Punjab. The Independent School Federation of India has also honoured DCM for its significant contribution towards enhancement of quality school education in India. With passage of time DCM has been adding umpteen feathers to its cap.
